What a great column! I don’t see a place to ask questions so I’ll just do it here: is there any hope for transforming a lawn that is primarily Bermuda grass? Thanks! P.S. apologies if you’ve addressed this elsewhere.
Thank you, Christina. It's fine to put questions in comments -- and I have not addressed Bermuda grass. I'd like to write a column on it. Where are you located? Anything else I should know? Feel free to email me at DearAvantGardener@gmail.com if you prefer.
We’re in northeast kansas, Douglas county. At our previous house, about 60 miles west, I had some success at replacing a lawn with native plants in one part of my garden. However, the southern edge of my property was full of Bermuda grass and bindweed (double whammy) and they seemed pretty indomitable. The best I could manage was a standstill. Front and backyard of our new house are both Bermuda grass and I’m reluctant to even try to eradicate it. I’ll be reaching out to the local groups that are encouraging people to replace their grass and will happily share any thing I learn. I look forward to reading your newsletter. Christina
